Pump Priming Solutions

Compressor Prime

Involves passing a jet of compressed air  through a venturi-type nozzle to evacuate the pump casing and suction line. It makes sure priming is fast, positive and continuous - even under snore conditions. The priming system has no moving parts. This greatly reduces maintenance requirements.


System Features and Benefits

Impeller

Stainless steel 316 for optimum corrosion resistance. Two per cent chromium and CD4MCu available as options. Impellers are open to improve solids handling, and have back vanes and holes for pressure balancing.

Venturi prime

Simple design, easy to clean. Modular for easy parts replacement. The Venturi system requires very little maintenance, and so is easily serviced in the field.

Volute

Spheroidal graphite cast iron for superior strength compared to ductile and grey iron. This also helps prevent cracking in the metal.

Wear plates

316 stainless steel replacement front and rear wear plates. Chromium steel abrasion resistant and CD4MCU corrosion and abrasion resistant steel are available options. Replaceable wear plate adjustment facility lowers operation and substitution costs.

Discharge

Flapper style check valve for deck discharge, or ball type for top discharge available.

Compressor

Water cooled compressors for lower running costs. This means a longer life and less maintenance of the compressor and Venturi priming system.

Seal

Oil bath mechanical seals allow dry running for extended periods. The oil bath dissipates the heat and lubricates the seal. Silicone carbide and tungsten carbide for the most effective head and friction coefficient. Seal technology allows for higher pressures, which improves performance in flooded suction and series pumping. Seal elastomers include Buna N and Viton.

Shaft

431 stainless steel to help prevent rust or pitting on the shaft and make seal changes faster and simpler.


Vacuum Prime

Features a vacuum priming chamber which dramatically reduces carry-over due to the stainless steel baffle deflector plates and pancake float. Ideal for wellpoint dewatering and long suction conditions.

Oil reservoir and oil/air separator

Fitted and an integral part of the vacumax chamber. The two stage oil separator reduces misting from the vacuum pump exhaust.

Seal

Oil bath mechanical seals allow dry running for extended periods. The oil bath dissipates the heat and lubricates the seal.

Shaft

Made from 431 stainless steel which means no rust or pitting on the shaft for easier seal changes.
